What we collect

Information you give us when you use a contact form or email us: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the service you are interested in and your message.

Basic technical data that our web server and hosting provider record automatically, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use it to keep the site secure and working.

To limit spam we keep a short-lived, one-way scrambled form of your IP address to count how many messages come from one connection. It cannot be turned back into your address.

Why we use it

To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and manage the working relationship if you become a client.

To protect the website against abuse and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We send one automatic confirmation email to the address you give us, so you know your message arrived.

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.

Cookies and analytics

At the time of writing this website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. If we add analytics or marketing tools in future, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.

Who we share it with

Only with the service providers we need to run the website and handle your enquiry, for example our hosting and email providers, and only for those purposes.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Where it is processed

Because we operate in South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States, your information may be handled in any of those countries. We take reasonable steps to make sure it stays protected wherever it is processed.

How long we keep it

If our email system is briefly unavailable, your enquiry is saved on our web server so it is not lost, and removed once we have followed it up.

Enquiries that do not become work are kept for as long as is reasonably needed to follow up and for our records, then deleted. Client records are kept for as long as needed to deliver services and meet legal and accounting requirements.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under South Africa's POPIA, and the UK and EU GDPR), you may ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

To do so, email info@plumdigital.co. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to your regulator, such as the Information Regulator (South Africa) or the Information Commissioner's Office (UK).

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
